1 2021 26-06-2021 National Webinar themed – “PROSPECTS OF FLORISTIC DIVERSITY IN NORTH-EAST INDIA" During the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, Department of Botany, Morigaon College, Morigaon, Assam, successfully conducted a National Webinar themed – “PROSPECTS OF FLORISTIC DIVERSITY IN NORTH-EAST INDIA”, through virtual mode on 26th June 2021. 2 2021 03-12-2021 The national pollution control day observation The national pollution control day was observed by the department of Botany in Asssociation with IQAC- Morigaon College at Mayanguri, an adopted village of Morigaon College. The awareness programme was held among the villagers and the distribution of of leaftlet had been done to aware about the soil, water, air and noise pollution.
3 2021 01-12-2021 World Aids Day Observation An HIV & AIDS Awareness programme was organised by the department of Botany in AKG Hall at 1 PM. All the faculty members of the department and the students from the existing semesters (1st ,3rd & 5th semester) were present in the session.
4 2021 30-12-2021 Educational tour to Kanthilansu, KarbiAnglong, Assam The Department of Botany, Morigaon College on 30 Dec 2021 successfully organized an educational tour to Kanthilansu, KarbiAnglong, Assam. All the faculty members of the department and the honours students of the ongoing semesters (1st, 3rd, and 5th Sem) were present.
5 2022 22-03-2022 World Water Day Observation The department of Botany in association with Dept. Of Chemistry observed “World Water Day” on 22nd March 2022 in college premises. Awareness programme was carried on among the student on this special day with the theme- ‘Ground water- making the invisible visible’.
6 2022 05-04-2022 Educational tour to University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya Educational tour to USTM, Meghalaya organized jointly by Department of Botany and Department of Geography, Morigaon College under MOU.
7 2022 04-04-2022 State Orchid Day Celebration Department of Botany on the occasion of State Orchid Day on 4th April 2022 organized an awareness programme on orchids among the students of the department.
8 2022 22-04-2022 Observation Of Earth Day Department of Botany along with department of B.VOC (Food Processing) celebrated the ‘Earth Day’ in the college premises. a plantation programme was carried out with the students in the college surroundings where students and teachers together planted 8 plants. Later an essay writing competition with the theme- “Investing in our planet and an art competition was held.
9 2022 20-05-2022 Educational Tour To Daffodil College Of Horticulture And Daffodil Nursery Educational tour was organized by Botany Department to Daffodil College of Horticulture, Khetri on 20/05/2022 and Daffodil Nursery under MOU.
10 2022 31-05-2022 World No Tobacco Day Observation Observation of World No Tobacco Day carried out where students presented seminars and discussed the dire consequences.
11 2022 11-06-2022 Workshop And Training Programme On Vermicompost Department of Botany organized a Workshop and Training Programme on Vermicompost on 11/06/2022. Mr. Janmoni Mahanta, Yangli Farmer Produce Company, was invited as a resource person for the workshop cum training programme.

13 2022 16-09-2022 International Ozone Day Celebration Awareness programme carried out through handmade poster presentation on the occasion of International Ozone Day in the Morigaon College premises by honours students of all the three semesters of the department presented infront of Honorable DC of Morigaon Shri Devashish Sharma, IAS.
14 2022 17-10-2022 Educational Trip to Panimur, Dima-Hasao Educational tour was conducted by the Department of Botany on 17th October,2022 to Panimur located in the Dima-Hasao district of Assam which included faculty members of the Department of Botany and 35 students from the 1st Semester,3rd Semester and 5th Semester of the Department.
15 2022 22-11-2022 Production and Marketing of Vermicompost Inaugural session of Vermicompost prepared and packaged under the certificate course ‘Introduction to Vermicompost’ taught by the faculty members of Department of Botany, in presence of the Principal, Morigaon College, HOD of Botany Department as well as other faculty members of the College in front of the students near the main gate of the college.
16 2022 01-12-2022 World Aids Day Observation AIDS day was observed in the department smart classroom on 1st December, 2022 where Dr. Jayanta Barkakoti, faculty of the department presented a seminar titled- “ HIV Biology Life cycle and pathogenesis”.
17 2023 20-03-2023 Cleanliness drive in Soniboria Market, Morigaon. A cleanliness awareness programme was carried out by the Department of Botany and Department of Chemistry, Morigaon College in the Soniboria Market area.
18 2023 22-03-2023 World Water Day Observation The department of Botany observed “World Water Day” on 22nd March 2023 in college premises. Awareness programme was carried on among the student on this special day with the theme- “Accelerating the change to solve the water crisis”.
19 2023 24-03-2023 World Tuberculosis Day, 2023 Department of Botany, Morigaon College observed “The World Tuberculosis Day” on 24th March, 2023 at Tarani-Kalbari Rangamancha of Tarani-Kalbari village, Boghora,Morigaon in collaboration with Boghora State Dispensary, Boghora and District tuberculosis Center (DTC) Morigaon, Assam. MOU was also signed between the Department of Botany Morigaon College and Boghara State Dispensary and District tuberculosis Centre Morigaon, Assam.

21 2023 22-05-2023 One-day Entrepreneurship Workshop on “AZOLLA CULTIVATION, MASS PRODUCTION AND ITS APPLICATION IN AGRICULTURE” under the MOU with Yangli Farmers Produce Company at Manipur Village, Morigaon. The Department of Botany organised a one-day Entrepreneurship Workshop on “AZOLLA CULTIVATION, MASS PRODUCTION AND ITS APPLICATION IN AGRICULTURE” under the MOU with Yangli Farmers Produce Company at Manipur Village, Morigaon on 22nd May,2023. Mr. Janmoni Mahanta, Chairman of Yangli Farmers Produce Company was also the Resource Person of the workshop on Azolla cultivation, mass production and its application in agriculture. The activities of the workshop were part of the current MOU the Department of Botany had signed with Yangli Farmers Produce Company.

25 2023 11-04-2023 FIELD TRIP TO BOTANICAL SURVEY OF INDIA (BSI),SHILLONG, MEGHALAYA An educational tour to Botanical Survey of India (BSI) Shillong, Meghalaya was successfully organised by the department of botany on 11th April,2023.
26 2023 10-04-2023 Workshop on Organic Farming The Department of Botany organized a one-day Workshop on Organic Farming at the Manipur Village, Morigaon in collaboration with Yangli Farmers Produce Company, Manipur, Morigaon on 10th April, 2023 under the MOU with Yangli Farmer’s produce company. Altogether, around 25 students of the Department of Botany along with two faculty members of the Department were present during the Workshop which commenced in the Yangli Farmer’s Producer Company premises.
27 2023 04-11-2023 Education excursion cum industrial visit to North Eastern Hill University , Shillong. The Department of Botany organized a one day educational excursion cum industrial visit to North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong on 4th November, 2023. The trip was organized as a part of the curriculum of the 6th semester students.
28 2023 24-04-2023 International Workshop on “Competency Development of Tertiary-Level Learners and Early-Career Researchers for Biodiversity Conservation in NE India with Reference to the UN-SDGs” The Department of Botany, Morigaon College in collaboration with Department of Zoology and Anthropology organized a one-day international workshop on “Competency Development of Tertiary-Level Learners and Early-Career Researchers for Biodiversity Conservation in NE India with Reference to the UN-SDGs” on 24th April,2023. On this occasion Dr. Ramesh “Zimbo” Boonratana was invited as a Resource Person who is also the Regional Vice-Chair, IUCN SSC Primate Specialist Group and Editor-in-Chief, Asian Primates Journal.

30 2023 19-04-2023 Faculty exchange program with department of Botany & Anandaram Dhekial Phookan College, Nagaon The Department of Botany had organized the Faculty Exchange Program with Anandaram Dhekial Phookan (ADP) College, Nagaon under the MOU with Department of Botany, ADP College, Nagaon on 19th April, 2023. Under the activities of the MOU, Dr. Sunjira Hazarika, Associate Professor, Department of Botany, ADP College and Dr. Bhaswati Kakati, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, ADP College were invited as Resource persons to deliver lecture on several topics related to Honours undergraduate syllabus of Botany.
31 2023 11-04-2023 Field trip to Botanical Survey of India (BSI), Shillong, Meghalaya. An educational tour to Botanical Survey of India (BSI) Shillong, Meghalaya was successfully organised by the department of botany on 11th April,2023 . The 4th semester honours students travelled to this lovely location with the assistance of two faculty members, Mr. Trideep Chetia and Mr. Ankur Jyoti Borah.
32 2023 24-03-2023 Celebration of World Tuberculosis (TB) Day The Department of Botany, Morigaon College observed “The World Tuberculosis Day” on 24th March, 2023 at Tarani-Kalbari Rangamancha of Tarani-Kalbari village, Boghora,Morigaon in collaboration with Boghora State Dispensary, Boghora and District tuberculosis Center(DTC) Morigaon, Assam.
33 2023 01-01-2023 Workshop on Development and Management of Fruit and Vegetable crops On 1st June, 2023 a workshop was organized by the department of botany at the horticultural garden of Morigaon College with the theme “Management of Fruit and Vegetable crops”. Two renowned personalities of Morigaon, Mr. Dibyajyoti Hazarika, Farm Manager, Agriculture Department, Morigaon and Mr. Utpal Choudhury, CEO, Kardom FPC, Morigaon were invited as the resource persons for the workshop.
34 2023 30-03-2023 Educational cum Industrial visit to Yangli farmers produce company. On 30th March 2023, the Department of Botany conducted an industrial visit to Yangli Farmers Produce Company, Manipur, Morigaon under the MOU with Yangli Farmers Produce Company. The 2nd and 4th Semester students of the Department accompanied by faculty members of the Department.
35 2023 14-09-2023 Awareness Programme on “AIDS INEQUALITIES AND FIGHTING THE MYTHS” An awareness program on HIV AIDS was organized on the theme “AIDS Inequalities and Fighting the Myths”. On this occasion reknowned Dr. Jahnabi Goswami, AIDS activist and Mr. Prashant Mera, Linkage Co-ordinator, INDIA-HIV AIDS ALLIANCE were invited as keynote speakers. 36 2023 09-11-2023 Educational tour to Bhelurghat, Karbi Anglong, Assam An educational tour was organized by the Department to Bhelughat, Karbi Anglong, Assam. 24 students of first semester under the Four Year Undegraduate Program(FYUGP) having core subject in Botany participated in the educational trip.
37 2023 28-09-2023 Field trip to Shillong, Meghalaya A field trip was arranged by the Department of Botany for the students (30 No.s) of 5th Sem Honours and 1st Semester Honours on 28th September, 2024 to Shillong, Meghalaya. Aim of the trip was to visit Botanical Survey of India (BSI) and to study different vegetation of Shilong at high altitude region of Meghalaya.

K Jha of Department of Botany Gauhati University were invited to give a talk, interact and encourage students. Prof. Tayung gave a presentation themed “Diversity of Microbial World- Concept and Application”.

43 2023 10-03-2023 Popular Talk On Exploration Of Diverse Wild Edible Fruits Of Tripura For Nutritional Value Talk was organized by the Department of Zoology and Department of Botany, Morigaon College where, Mr. Suresh Biswas, Scientist, Tripura Krishi Vigyan Kendra, an alumnus of Morigaon made aware to the students about the various wild edibles and their importance in today’s world of industrialization.

Invited resource person was Dr. Niraj Agarwala, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, Gauhati University. He delivered his talk on "Fascinating dimensions of plant science research".
46 2024 23-02-2024 Alumni Meet, 2024 An Alumni Meet was organized by the Department of Botany, Morigaon College. The programme included cultural programmes organized by the students of the department. Further the Departmental magazine “Aranya”of the edition 2023-2024 was inaugurated by Mrs. Ami Devi, Head of the Department of Botany.
47 2024 28-02-2024 National Science Day Celebration, 2024 National Science Day was celebrated on 28th February, 2024. Arts Competition was organized by the department with the theme “Indigenous Technologies for Vikshit Bharat” where students participated displaying their artistic flavours.

An awareness programme was organized by the Department of Botany in collaboration with District Tuberculosis Centre, Morigaon. Many renowned dignitaries were present on the occasion which included Dr. Randeep Neog (Consultant-WHO-NEP), Dalim Phukan (Professor of Practice, Morigaon College) (reporter of Assam Tribune), Rinki Bhagawati (Counsellor, ICTC, Morigaon Civil Hospital), Dr. Oliradha Bhagawati (Counsellor, ICTC, Morigaon Civil Hospital).
